INTO THE BLACK EARTH was meant to be a solo installation in SOLOS PROJECT HOUSE on display during the months of October-December 2014.  Midway through the process I suffered an injury, falling off of a ladder and smashing the joint in my left wrist. Since the project was mural based there was no means to complete it after this injury as I am left handed.  All that remains of this are preparatory sketches and a few small works related to the idea.  From this project, to the ones that came after you can see the clear demarcation and change that the injury created in my work, forcing me into a new kind of thought and minimalist approach as I started to heal and adjust the permanent loss of mobility and changes to my ability to use my left hand.

All pieces here are untitled, gouache and spray paint on paper, 2014.
